Your minimum budget of Euro 1-3K is NOT enough to do anything much in China, even if we are not selected. China is an expensive place to do marketing in! Please read further as it's VERY Important Info for Those Potential Clients Wanting to Offer Your Brand/Goods/Services to China The budgets that continue to be posted by the majority of you and that we have seen for most tasks that may be of interest are WAY OFF the mark. Particularly if these budgets include media costs. BUT you should state, up front what you are expecting to include in your budget, rather than hide it until the next stage. If you only have, say, Euro 1-3k (!!) how can you expect to then pay the media costs (which would make these budgets pale into significance). This kind of budget will go nowhere in China I'm sorry to tell you. Or, you'll get some small, inexperienced agency who will give you bad / unhelpful advice and you'll just lose your money. And local costs (admin / infrastructure / staff / marketing etc) are not as cheap as perhaps many would have you believe. China is a costly world to enter and get right. Particularly now with the trade stand-off. The upside, if done properly, is huge of course. But many get it wrong (even the big blue-chips), as they won't change / can't change the way they do business for the China consumer. So, please! have a more serious think about what you want to do and achieve and what, therefore, you are prepared to spend in order to achieve that. China is not really about dipping your toe in the water I'm afraid. I hope this helps. (P.S - if however, someone is crazy enough to tell you they can do whatever your asking / expecting for the budget you say you have, I'm sorry but it will result in nothing of the sort. Most projects like this are done half-cocked, with little positive result (if any - but I'll take the money) and no longer term gain....) Who Are We? The Gravitas Partnership is a group of very senior blue-chip professionals with unrivalled commercial expertise, operational experience and track records in Asia across many product and service industries. We are not a consultancy. Rather, we are hands-on business solutions providers with the proven skills to not only devise effective growth strategies, but to also implement recommended programs down to the finest detail. Our partners have all had long, successful careers as thinkers, problem solvers and program executors with major international corporations operating at the front lines of the Asian business world. To Those Who Have Contacted Us Already: We say "Thanks! We're flattered". However, and on a need to know basis, SEAsia, and particularly China (as well as Korea and Japan) are not 'cheap' places to do business any longer and certainly not to advertise / build websites and apps etc For example we've had a few companies that have been in touch looking for service providers that build anything from website AND an app (!!!) for Euro10-20K and another looking for digital strategy (ideas) for a little more. There have been others. My concern is that the budgets identified suggest many are in for a shock (and / or a bad job when finished). The issue and challenge is therefore about how a company here (like mine) can make reasonable money on such tasks if an 'average to good suit' here will earn Rmb50K+ / month and a have decent 'creative lead' will earn about the same. Obviously line workers are a little cheaper, but not much (a newbie fresh-grad designer will earn Rmb8-12K a month) Why do I tell you this? Because if you're serious about making it happen in China, then you need to more seriously think about what you can afford because you'll get nothing half decent with these budgets and you'll need more input and reference points regarding the costs and expenses of doing things that work (properly!) here too. And then it's all got to work hand-in-hand with,. and be sustainable within, the China way of doing things (their own media and social media and infrastructure etc and which is little or nothing to do with how it all happens in the West) and that's not cheap either. Of course there's a large handful of 'cheaper' options for sure, but there won't be any value-add or ongoing dialogue when your business starts and needs a better, more understanding 'push' and advice.
