Could you describe your company and what position you currently hold?I’m Matthias Stephens. I’m the founder and co-manager of Esign. Esign is a Digital Agency in Ghent. It was founded in 2002 and specialises in designing, developing, and maintaining websites, web shops, and web applications, for SME's We believe in a well functioning team, so we don't work with freelancers in one space to optimise the internal communication. We believe that this leads to a higher quality and, definitely in the long term, to cost advantages.
How Sortlist was introduced to you as a solution you might use?Well, to begin with, Esign is an organisation completely, uhm, driven by sales, but through the years we have tried to work with lead generators and we’ve actually had a bad experience doing so. The main cause was, in fact, a lack of knowledge in our market by those lead generators, which in turn led to a bad screening, due to which we put a lot of time and energy into leads. But, in April 2014 we suddenly received a newsletter from Sortlist, and I noticed the logos from some of our competitors and then I ended up thinking: “I don’t want to miss out on this one, because they are 100% focussed on digital,” and we registered.
If you were to recommend Sortlist to a close friend, colleague or partner what would you say?Sortlist actually complements what we do in a really nice way because through our word-of-mouth advertising we primarily reached customers and companies within the same market and within the same region. And thanks to Sortlist we’re now also reaching customers we weren’t able to reach before. Another example is, for instance, a customer who sent us a quotation request and who’d also found us through Sortlist. This created a lot of trust with that company. And regardless of the platform, they also maintain their flexibility as a team. I’m sure that the click is mutual because at a certain stage I was on your website and they had a job offer on Creativeskills and there was a picture of our office so I do think there’s a good click. Sortlist is a young, enthusiastic start-up with big ambitions, and thanks to the motivated team and a well-functioning platform, which is constantly being improved, I do think they’ll achieve their goals. And that, of course, is also of interest to us.
